Teflon (poly-trafluoroethylene or PTFE) earned it's stripes as a highly effective and reliable thread sealant when it was used during the Manhattan Project to seal pipes carrying radioactive material. More recently, it's been incorporated into the manufacturing process of the waterproof fabric Gore-Tex(TM). And now you can take advantage of it's incredible sealing properties to leak-proof plumbing connections, water pipes, air hose-fittings - just about any threaded connection. Wrap threads tightly to pull Teflon into the threads, overlapping about half the tape-width. Wrap to end of threads but not beyond to avoid causing obstruction. Fittings will tighten and loosen naturally without additional effort; If fitting is removed simply replace tape. An essential time, effort and frustration saver for professionals, do-it-yourselfers and homeowners. (Not for use with natural gas or liquid propane)

Great tape. Best price Feb 25, 2012

I got fed up with buying 100" or 260" rolls of teflon tape from the local suppliers at inflated prices. I have a large piece of property with a lot of irrigation and use a lot of this tape, so a 100" roll of tape is a joke, and more of an irritation than anything else. This is good tape, the roll will last a while, and the price is the best I have found.

Good tape. Dec 05, 2011
By Nash Campbell What can I say? It's teflon tape and it works. It's kind of hard to screw up teflon tape though. Great price, so five stars.
What a great deal! Apr 26, 2012
By Ali Julia I go through a lot of Teflon tape in my garden, because I have an extensive drip irrigation system. Teflon tape is the key to having all cheap plastic components fitting together perfectly and operating without leaks. I disassemble the system for the winter, and every spring put it back together with the new Teflon tape. The only trick to using Teflon tape is to wrap it around the threads in the same direction you are going to be screwing in the next component, then with each turn you will be working with the Teflon tape rather than unwinding it. Wrap threads tightly to pull Teflon into the threads, overlapping about half the tape-width. Wrap to end of threads but not beyond to avoid causing obstruction.
As I began working on it this spring I ran out of old Teflon tape and found this 4-roll packaging which was the best deal I found. Each roll has 1/2" tape and is 520 inches/170 feet on each roll. Teflon tape does not go bad, so I expect this to last me a few years. Note that Teflon is also known as PTFE (poly-trafluoroethylene). Photo of an open package attached under customer photos.

I purchased this to use while installing a new showerhead and for bicycle maintenance purposes. The product is a great deal for the length of tape you get and it works flawlessly. Will buy again!

...It's teflon tape. It'll keep your application dry. Good quality stuff, works just as well as any other I've used for half the price. Good deal.
