1DO NOT BUY THESE FLOORING STAPLES!  Nov 26, 2009
I opened up the box from amazon to find a vastly smaller box inside that had been damaged and the box of 5,000 staples was busted open and the racks were all broken up into small pieces. This was not as upsetting as the following. I installed a 600 sq ft wide plank maple floor and found out that the orange glue that binds the staples together to form a rack was so thick I ended up taking my thumb and rubbing the rest off of the head of the staple once it was driven into the plank. Those staples that had no so much glue on them eventully had a glue sliver poke up between the planks in rare instances. So I ended up taking a razor knife and cutting them out very carefully as not to scratch the planks. I LOST A LOT OF PRODUCTIVITY ON THIS JOB thinking I was saving money on the price of flooring staples compared to Lowes or Home Depot. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND SPEND THE EXTRA MONEY AND BUY THE BOSTICTCH BRAND STAPLES! Never again will I buy these staples.

5Great product, great price.  Dec 30, 2008
I had previously been using the Harbor Freight brand staples with my Central Pneumatics floor stapler (also from harbor freight). I had constant jamming and inconsistency with the quality of the staples.

These are great! Although my box also arrived damaged, where many groups of staples had been separated, I just threw the damaged ones to the side and used the staples that looked proper. Not a single jam! I installed my entire porch floor with not jamming at all. Granted this was pressure treated pine, not the maple I had installed previously, but still made a huge difference.

Perhaps a more experience flooring installer could tell you if the luck I had should be attributed to these staples or the type of flooring, but to me I was simply amazed at how well these staples made my cheap flooring stapler work.

1Beware!!  Feb 21, 2008
Poor packaging. Someone apparently dropped and box the staples were in and it had broken open and scattered the staples throughout the Amazon box. In addition, these staples are not coated with adhesive as are the Bostitch staples. I had to return them and ordered the Bostitch staples. Now I have to wait for a March 3 ship date.

5received in intact condition  Nov 12, 2007
Even with two bad reviews I ordered it from Amazon.com. I received it within two days as Prime member. It was intact. The staples work fine in my Bostitch floor stapler.
I had encountered problem with some of Harbor Freight staples. They are not identical merchandise. B&C staples are galvanized.I can not understand why anybody will install wood floor in a high moisture area. I guess that is what galvanized material for.
I am not a pro. I only do my own property floor installations. I had used about 20,000+ staples in the past years. I am happy with the qualities of both the nailer and B & C staples.

2Packaging is definitely a problem  Mar 15, 2006
When I opened the box of staples I was shocked to find that the staples were literally thrown into the box with nothing securing them in any way. The staples were bent and broken apart from each other making them totally unusable. I can't vouch for the staple performance because I returned the box as soon as I received it. Harbor Freight has the same staples for less than half the price (and the packaging was adequate).
