2Low quality, soft and brittle Chinese steel.  Mar 16, 2012 By Barthbill
The Cninese steel is soft, and bends easily. After the nail is bent, the head pulls off in attempts to remove the nail, even in Smartside and OSB, with very little stud hanging on to it. Somebody in China cut some corners on the metallurgy. I end up cutting the nail off short and pounding it the rest of the way in.

5Bostitch Siding Nail  Nov 28, 2011 By Jeff
Nails were very good with the gun I purchased. I used on Hardi board siding and they got the job done.
