5A huge time saver (and thumb saver)!  Jul 14, 2009 By Muad'Dib
This makes fumbling with those tico nails a thing of the past, and it's so much faster than hand nailing. Just put the exposed nail tip in the joist hanger nail hole and pull the trigger. And this model, the MCN250 will fire 1-1/2" *and* 2-1/2" metal connector nails (it's just a pain in the *** to switch between the two). I'm a building contractor and use this gun a lot.

2Doesn't work in the cold  Jan 10, 2012 By aquadog
I am framing a house in Alaska and while my Hitachi framing nailer works flawlessly in the cold (working in temps as low as -5 deg. F.) the Bostich Strapshot MCN250 quits firing after just a handful of nails. One is lucky if they could complete two MST 60 straps before the nailer quits. The only remedy is to heat up the nailer. Once warm it will resume working albeit briefly. I have not used this nailer in temperatures above 20 degrees.
The price of the Bostich was less than half that of the Hitachi hanger nailer and was my reason for purchase. I do not nail enough hangers to justify the price of the Hitachi. When the Bostich works it works wonderfully. When it quits it is downright frustrating. I may have been better off sticking with my palm nailer.

1Worked great for 5 minutes  Aug 11, 2011 By Ross S. Graupman "topshelfbuilders.biz"
Light, inexpensive, comfortable to work with, unfortunately after 48 nails it stopped driving nails completely. The trigger does not actuate the piston mechanism and driver. Now I have downtime plus I have to go to a Bostitch authorized repair shop where they will probably tell me that the defect is normal wear and tear and will charge me to fix it. It cost me about $3 for every nail I successfully put in with this nailer. I cannot recommend anyone buy this tool.

5Take your best shot  May 25, 2011 By Oly
If you have joist hangers or metal connectors to deal with this is the tool to have. It gets in those tight spots and places the nails with a degree of conviction.

4Bostitch nailer  Apr 23, 2011 By RockinRobinj
I truly like this tool. Yes I agree with some other reviews that it will not deliver the last few nails. workaround is too keep magazine full. Still a whole lot better than hand nailing and much better on fingers.
