Simply Awesome Tool! Aug 22, 2007
By Matt
"Contractor"
This tool is amazing! We have only used it on one house for finishing but it was a big one 6000 sq ft with all red oak stairs. This guys never missed a beat. The thing just fires whatever you ask it to fire anywhere in anything. The trigger on pin nailers is the only thing to get used to, it's easy to accidental fire if you don't pay attention. I love that this tool fires slight headed brads as well which came in very handy. The air blower is a great tool to have around as well, can't say enough good things about this tool, the one negative is the price, it's very salty! However if you want to fire long skinny fasteners with no trouble this is the dude you need.

not a satisfied user May 01, 2009
By Terrill Corley I have a 23 Gauge. It has a propensity for the pin nail to get caught up requiring you to stop and dislodge the pin, fairly time consuming. After using it only 5 or 6 times, maybe shooting 150 pins TOTAL,it broke down, requiring me to have to return for repairs. Although I was originally told it was under warranty, they later claimed that it the parts damaged was a "wear item" and not warranted. It is only 9 months old and repairs cost me over $100. The repair facility wanted my credit card number for shipping but wound up charging much more to the card for all the repairs. A very frustrating experience. Also, I don't trust the safety mechanism as far as I can throw it. It does not operate like most others. Its on the trigger and is easily hit accidentally, causing a dangerous misfire. If it didn't cost so much, I would get rid of it and get one with a better safety mechanism.

Unreliable and Bad Warranty Feb 25, 2009
By J. Weiss I bought this thinking it would be an awesome thing to have
First the stupid thing never was able to fully drive the 2" pins
and now the the plunger wont reset
I called up the company and they only have a year warranty.
ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!
this is an expensive tool that rarely gets used. it is already broken in a year and a half and you cant warranty your stuff.
I will never buy a product made by this company again. Stick with the grex or nikle.

my experience with the Cadex CPB 23.50 Oct 08, 2010
By Andrejs I've made a living as a carpenter/cabinet installer for over 30 years and bought a Porter Cable 100 pin nailer when I was first aware that they were available. I knew of a pin nailer made by an Italian company by the name of Omar which was available prior to the Porter Cable but cost more than I wanted to spend at the time. I was delighted that I could fasten smaller trim with barely noticeable penetration holes which saved time (no holes to fill) and made my work look substantially cleaner. Since then I've owned several of those pinners amongst others and noticed various tool manufacturers making guns that could shoot up to 1 3/8" pins and so on up to the present. Now a person can buy a Grex or Cadex that will shoot up to a 2" 23 guage pin through hardwood and drywall into framing material which is a very desirable feature if the material your applying is pre-finished. I bought the Cadex because of the features it has and have had wonderful results using it for years now fastening various pre-finished moldings to cabinets and moldings to jambs. I still use the Porter cable when a shorter pin is acceptable because it leaves a minutely smaller hole than the Cadex. The only time the Cadex jammed was when I was shooting slightly headed 2"pins through a heavy hardwood crown molding. I think I was shooting too fast and have learned to slow down with that particular application. Also, I've learned to buy stainless pins because I've found they deflect much less than average. The tool paid for itself in just a few jobs in retrospect and I'd give it 2 thumbs up.

Cadex Pin Nailer Aug 15, 2010
By ARNOR_US

I purchased my Cadex in 2007 from the Fastener Company. I have not been disappointed by this tool. When I purchased the tool, nothing on the market came close. Even the Grex, lacked the 2" pin capacity, on-board compressed air blower (like my Hitachi 15 gauge), and finish of the Cadex. I have used this tool for several years, religiously oiling prior to every use and ensuring that it is stored in its case in a dry location, and have never been unhappy with its performance. The time I have saved in not having to fill in nail holes was well worth the cost of this tool. I am very surprised by the negative reviews that this tool has received here. Cannot speak to recent manufacturing issues, but I never had any reason to complain about my Cadex.
