Usually ships in 1-2 business days | | | | | | The DeWalt D51823 Clipped Head 2-to-3-1/2-inch Framing Nailer comes with a 7-1/2-pound magnesium housing and aluminum magazine, making this nailer one of the lightest nailers in the industry. A unique engine design generates power to bury nails in both standard framing lumber and engineered lumber with minimal recoil, and a tool-free adjustable depth allows for quick and easy depth of drive setting. Also included is a tool-free quick release jam clearing feature that eliminates downtime by removing bent nails caught in the nose piece. Other features include an integrated rafter hook that allows for increased versatility on the job site, and a dry fire lockout that extends bumper life by preventing the tool from actuating when the magazine is empty. Also included is an impact-resistant exhaust deflector that protects damage to the cap and a trigger lock-off that allows the trigger to be disabled when not in use. This nailer comes with a pair of DeWalt safety glasses and a replacement bump trigger. | | | |

Only does half the job it is meant to do Feb 04, 2003
By Andrea Benbenek When I purchased this gun it seemed to be a winner.Light, powerful , great features. It wasn`t untill I loaded the gun with a new box of 8`s to bang out a sheathing job. This gun will not shoot any brand of 8`s strip nails , tried them all.It seems like the spring holding the strip nails has too much force and buches them together , jamming the gun after three shots. It does shoot 10`s excellent with ease , but for [money], it does half the job of any other nail gun.Try a friends before you buy one....

A Framer's delight Sep 17, 2002

This is a sturdy, well-made gun that fires 3 1/4 and 2 1/2 inch clipped heads with equal tenacity. The bump-trigger is very light and I can easily rat-a-tat if I'm not quick off of the "bump". I might switch to a single selective trigger which comes packaged with the tool. Wish I had a carry-box or fabric bag that came with it. I'm ready to tackle several decks now just to feel it work. GREAT Tool !!! C.H. Josephs

decent gun Dec 28, 2004
By Gary When I got this gun I was really pleased. It's light and fairly powerful. But after framing about 20 houses in the last year or so it just couldn't hold up. The power dropped dramatically and then the nose and trigger gave up.It probably would do great under a less stressful workload.

Pretty good nailer Feb 29, 2004
By Nate Norris I read many reviews before buying a new framer and it was between this one and the paslode. My company builds lots of decks and new homes, so this gun gets a workout. It has worked alongside a couple of paslodes now for about 6 months. It is excellently balance and powered. My only complaint is that after working through the winter in severe cold, it needed a full overhaul (under warranty thankfully) for the seals and O-rings while the paslodes kept right at it. Overall, a great gun, just hope it does not need seals every six months.

Amazing, problem-free framing nailer. Nov 10, 2005

I have had this nailer for several months now, and it has done nothing but perform flawlessly. Whether framing or sheathing, it has never misfired once. It has never jammed. The tool free depth adjustment works great. The rafter hook is something I could not live without. The quick release jam clearing feature is also great. (Although I haven't had to use it for clearing jams). This is simply a phenomenal nailer. The only way I would be happier is if DeWalt would include a kit box with this gun.
