5A little Flimsy but okay for home use  Feb 13, 2009 By Mountain Lake Woodwork "Craftsman in Wood"
I've been a woodworker since 83 and have setup a number of shops for different outfits. For casual home use the ABS blast gates will do fine. In a commercial environment you would spend more time replacing them as they break than the lower price could offset.

Out of 14 I purchased two were defective and two more fell apart. The failure point is where the two halves of the gate body are glued together. Regluing these is tricky because you'll probably over apply the glue and block the slide. The time spent hassling with the repair is not going to be feasible for a business.

However for your average hobby shop these are the way to go and you can treat them lightly knowing they cant stand a lot of force.

The ones I have in my little shop work fine and after a few weeks are still in one piece.

5Blast Gates  May 30, 2009 By Duane Leake
I was in need of three blast gates but after checking in San Diego only found one place which was a kit for $312.00. Went on line; Amazon directed my purchase to a company in GA; $3.97 each. Dust collection works great.
