Excellent item for the price Feb 07, 2007
By Jennifer I was extremely surprised with all the features and options available on this frame! The reason I went with this frame (as opposed to any other) is that you can load photos up to 12MB in size--and you don't have to bother resizing the photos! The native display is 640x480, but I loaded a bunch of different sizes and they all looked fine (there was no strange resizing or cropping). I have to say I was also pleasantly surprised by the quality of the displayed photos. I tested high-quality 600dpi photos vs. low-quality 96dpi photos, and while you could tell a difference if you REALLY studied them, overall, for the average user, the photos look just fine in low-quality (which allows you to get more photos on your memory card).
Speaking of memory cards, this frame supports more popular formats than I've seen elsewhere (including SD Memory Cards, MultiMedia (MMC) Cards, Memory Stick, Memory Stick Pro, IBM Microdrive, and Type I/II Compact Flash Cards) as well as supporting MP3s and a slew of video formats (Motion JPEG (AVI), MPEG-I, MPEG-II, MPEG-IV, 3GPP)!!
Setup is easy enough to figure out, although it's easier with the remote as opposed to the buttons on the back of the unit. I was also impressed with the slideshow options, which include a large selection of transition effects and slideshow timing features. There are only two things I didn't really like, but neither is a reason to skip this frame. The first "con" is that I would much rather have had a wood, black, or silver frame--but for $80 (after rebate on Black Friday), I can accept a white frame! The second "con" is that if you have anything other than .jpgs on the memory card (even just one .mp3!), the first screen you get (when powered on) lists PHOTO, MUSIC, VIDEO, FILE and you have to manually select PHOTO to start the slideshow.
Overall, I would highly recommend this frame. As I mentioned, I did get it for a great price, but I actually like it enough to pay more for it.

Great price, average performace Dec 07, 2007
By Captain Nemo The price of this frame is good (I got it for $[...] after rebate), but the features and performance of this frame definitely reflect the low end price.
The frame features no internal memory, meaning that in order to use it you must have a memory card plugged into it at all times. I happened to have an extra Compact Flash card that I wasn't using any more so it wasn't an issue for me, but most people will probably need to buy a memory card for use with the frame, which drives up the total cost of the frame.
I also have issues with the picture quality - pictures have a red tinge that shouldn't be there. The viewing angle of the screen is also not the best - if you're not looking at it straight on, the picture is noticeably darker and redder. Also, the screen has a slight but very annoying flicker to it.
Lastly, there is no shuffle mode for slide shows - your pictures are always shown in the same order every time, which gets boring very quickly, even if you have a lot of pictures on your memory card.
I'm not totally unhappy with my purchase, but the next time I buy a digital picture frame I'm definitely willing to spend a little more money to get better performance and more features.
Don't waste your money Dec 29, 2008
By J. Sevigny What a piece of junk. Only after you adjust the brightness and contrast to the limit, can you make out a faint image. The manual is a joke. I tried to contact Jwin customer service and got no response. Do not waste your money.
worked great for non-tech grandfather Dec 15, 2008
By John Summerlot We got one of these for my dad and stepmom last year who live far away. We send them a flash card every couple months with new pictures of the grandkids and they send the old one back so we just keep a couple in rotation. You do have to pay attention to how the pictures are formated (landscape or portrait) or they'll get stretched. But our 5 and 8 megapixel pictures show up just fine. Remote is easy to use and the dad loves the video part. Buying another this year for my mom and step-dad, maybe one for my office.

Very poor quality, reflecting the price Feb 13, 2008

This may be one of cheapest digital frames out there, and it's clear why. While it theoretically has quite a few nice features, the still (jpeg) picture quality is very poor (fuzzy) and and video would not play properly at all - it was broken up, despite my using Edge's own branded media. After reading the instructions and online FAQ, to no avail, I quickly decided to return it and look for a better quality, (ie probably more expensive) unit. More trouble than it was worth, especially in terms of my time in troubleshooting. I have had another poor experience with an Edge product previously and probably will not give them another chance to waste my time!
