It looks great and sounds even better, even above the din of nailers, compressors and saws. But it's not just a radio: The DeWalt DC011 also charges 7.2-volt through 18-volt DeWalt batteries in an hour and plays up to eight hours from a single DeWalt battery if electricity is not available. The radio is AM/FM with a digital tuner, and an auxiliary port lets you plug in a CD player. A convenient case on the radio's side lets your store your CDs, safe and clean. It's tough enough for the jobsite, too, wearing a rugged, high-impact roll cage, steel speaker grills, and weather-resistant body. Our only complaint is that there's no battery included, but this probably isn't your first cordless tool, either. You can't go wrong, whether it'll play at the job or the home workshop.--Kris Jensen-Van Heste END

3Not up to DeWalt standards!  Sep 19, 2005 By Scott Westfahl
This thing does a good job of charging batteries - but so does the charger I bought for less than 20 dollars. It plays AM and FM radio stations if the station is fairly close and you aren't annoyed by continually having to wiggle the volume control until both speakers start working. Don't expect any bass because there isn't a tone control. Don't bother setting the time, or any stations into the "presets", because the AA batteries that are supposed to maintain the memory will discharge overnight. It comes with a case to hold CDs, but it doesn't have a CD player (duh!). All my tools are DeWalts, and I've been satisified with their performance, but this thing is way below the quality I'd expect from something that says its a DeWalt. I'm about ready to sell off all my DeWalt stuff and buy Bosch because the Bosch radio/charger has a CD player, sounds better, and has many useful features. After the first wimpy DeWalt attempt at a radio/charger, you'd think the new version would be an improvement. WRONG!

1Reconditioned unit no bargain  Oct 02, 2005 By R. Beatty
The unit I received was missing the Accessory/CD case that snaps to the side. The LCD screen was badly scratch/fogged. The unit does receive stations, but the antenna is very loose.

It wasn't worth the saving to receive this sub-standard unit.

Shame on Dewalt!

1It already broke down!  Oct 18, 2005 By H. Mendez "Do it right everytime even if it takes a little longer"
I bought this piece of junk in august I actually started using it in september & now it's broken, I own a lot of very good DeWalt tools, but they let me down with this one...

5Real Nurse(RN MSN)  Jan 19, 2007 By Vincent L. Deliberto "real nurse"
The radio-charger was a Christmas present for my partner, a contractor. He and his crew are very impressed by the quality of the radio, the reception is great, and the flexible antena is top notch for a construction site. The battery-charger is great, especially when the electric power has to be turned off, the radio can still be enjoyed.

5Work radio  Dec 07, 2007 By K. Pitre "The Iceman"
I really like this product, I find I allways have a charged battery, because I plug the radio in and charge batteries while listening to music. The unit also has an input jack for an I-pod or other audio device. It is durable and constucted well. I would recomend it highly to any one who ask me about it.
