roofing coil nailer Sep 28, 2010
By gunman I've used this hatachi coil nailer for about 1000 squares. 3-tab, 30yr dim, and 50yr comp shingles. No problems what so ever.We work in all weather conditions. The gun runs smooth and fast. Been a roofer for 15 years, paslode, makita, and bostich, this gun leaves them in the dust as far as a money maker. The main thing is to oil the gun, keep it clean, and adjust the psi high enough.
hitachi roofing nailer Apr 10, 2012
By Roman Harris I had some problems with the nailer on the second day of use. The shingle gauge came off the allen screws that held it on came out there was no easy way to tighten these screws. Had to put it back together with only one screw leaving part of the guard off. There was a bushing that had to go in and then the screw but there was no easy way to do it on the job. The nailer worked well after that. We had a few jams with it but I was not using hitachi nails but they were not hard to clear. Had the screws not come out I would give it 5 stars.
Sub-par Air Nailer May 21, 2010
By C. Rohleder I am part of a roofing crew that averages 2 roofs a week. I was interested in buying an air nailer for myself to do side jobs. I chose the Hitachi because of the reputation and good reviews. I used this air nailer for one job and was completely unsatisfied. This gun jammed many times, shot inconsistently and broke nail heads. I have used Bostitch, DeWalt, Max and now Hitachi air nailers and no gun comes close to the Max Super Roofer. I promptly returned the Hitachi (no problems with Amazon, great customer service) and will buy my own Max Super Roofer at some point.

Sadness Jul 17, 2011
By NotFoolin'Around I normally do not like to comment so soon on the acquisition of a new tool however, I thought I should mention something to warn potential buyers not just about this tool but, about any new tool in general. I just got a brand new NV45AE and pulled it right out of the box yesterday on Friday. Looks great, beautiful in fact, every bit as wonderful as my trusty NV75AG. I went through the check list that Hitachi-Koki details out, yes, silly I know but, nevertheless sensible. I discovered an air leak before ever putting a single nail through it. The dilema: to return it via Amazon (I know they are good for it) or, report it to the maker and get it seviced? Either way represents a loss of time, the permit clock starts ticking on Monday. The error? Totally mine, as I should have not waited till the last moment to order this sort of equipment. Do yourselves a favor and order early in anticipation of equipment resolutions. The NV45AE? I am sure I will like it once the problem is corrected. I may write another review if it performs the way I think it should.
