As air line interchanges became popular in the automotive industry, different manufacturers developed their own styles in an attempt to capture the market. As a result, various incompatible, yet nearly identical looking types emerged. To be able to recognize each type, you would have to memorize the bands on all the coupler sleeves and the shapes of all the plugs. Now, with ColorConnex color coding system it easy to connect the correct tool to a specific dedicated hose line. Color coding eliminates tool contamination and takes the guess work out of trying to determine which tool goes to which coupler or plug. Now you can quickly and easily separate and identify lubricated "wet" lines for air tools and filtered "dry" lines for paint guns or dedicated nitrogen lines for tire inflators.

Light weight, but works for home use May 11, 2012 By Morgan
Solid brass is the only way to go for high use, but these are nice for air tools that aren't used too often. It is really nice that they are anodized aluminum in different colors. This set does not leak at all so far and I am happy with my purchase.

Having just bought an air compressor (Makita MAC2400 Big Bore 2.5 HP Air Compressor), and some air tools, I needed some fittings.

This worked in hooking up my tubing to the compressor, and setting up a few air tools as well.

I don't need to separate air lines yet, but this seems like a good way to make it easier.

A bit more expensive than standard kits, but seems worth it.

I inherited a lot of my fathers air tools but unfortunately most of them would not seal, these couplers fixed all of them.
