5Clean, quiet and powerful.  Nov 04, 2006 By Morgen C. Sharp "Morgen Sharp"
It's a really nice compressor.

Made in America with the best warranty around.

I use it for eveything from blowing dirt out of my expensive recording gear - to fixing up my old ford truck - to finsihing pianos - to framing houses.

Pretty amazing, quieter than most, heavy but not too heavy.

The only thing I didn't like was that I needed to tighten the rubber floor mats upon receipt. Also, the front bar felt wobbly.

All in all, for the tasks I require of it this compressor was the best dollar for dollar I could have done.

I'm very satisfied and don't forget to buy American.

5Decent Compressor  Dec 17, 2007 By E. Thorpe
I bought this specifically because I avoid purchasing imported products whenever possible. I am very happy with the quality of this compressor. It's fairly quite and the tank fills to 150 psi very quickly. You really can't go wrong with a 5 year warranty anyway. This tells me that it was built to last.

The distributor shipped this upside down. They actually put the packing slip on the bottom of the box. This caused the weight of the compressor to be placed on the outlet adapters. These were not damaged at all, but the outlet pressure gauge slammed into the top of the compressor heat sink during shipment which damaged it. I called the manufacturer and without even having to hold was speaking to an American who quickly put a new gauge in the mail.

I am very happy with this compressor and the company that supports it. Buy American!

5Nice air compressor  Feb 23, 2009 By S. Whalen
After a couple of weeks of searching for the right air compressor I decided to pickup this unit. I've only owned it for a week, but I have used a few times and must say that it is one great compressor. I work in construction, so I have used many, many brands of compressors over the years and I would have to say that this is the best portable I have every used. The Maxus has similar specs as the rigid compressors as well as the makita that many people like.
It was package fairly well and arrived in good condition. The only thing I did was to finish screwing in two of the rubber feet that when about 1/4" out causing the compressor to rock a little. The roll cage is nice and protects the motor, as well as, the controls and hoses. My only gripe with the compressor comes from the roll cage, because it is angled inward at the bottom giving the whole thing a smaller "stance". Not really a problem, but it would be more stable with the feet farther apart. This brings me to the control panel which is a great feature that more compressors need to include. Having the dual hose fittings, regulator and pressure controls in one visible spot makes life easy. It also protects parts from getting broken off accidentally. I find it to be of medium weight for a 4 gallon compressor and found it comfortable to move around. I have no problems carrying it around and find that you can use the handle or the roll bar depending on what side your on. Also, there are dual drains, one on each tank that function well. They are the type that screw in, which is a nice because you can't lose the drain plug.
This brings me to the function part of the compressor. This thing is stout to say the least. I plugged the unit into a 15amp wall outlet and it started immediately with a loud hum from the motor. At 3450rpm the motor is loud, but not obnoxious like a rigid. I could work a full day with this in the same room and not be too bothered by it. The pressure quickly built to 150 psi and shut down ending at about 155psi. Once it is initially filled the compressor has no problems keeping up and recovers very fast. I did trip the breaker once, but there was also a television and refrigerator on the same circuit and once I reset and switch to a dedicated outlet I had no problems. I bought the compressor wanting to run multiple framing guns, trim guns and sometimes an impact gun or spray gun. This compressor can do all of that and comes with a 5 year warranty.
