Nice Roofing Nailer With Case Jul 22, 2008
By S. Young
"ontheweb"
Bought this nailer for a house addition and it worked great. Once in a while it wouldn't pull the next nail forward, but this happened in the first 10 minutes and didn't do that any more. Probably just the coil I was using at the time or just needed a little break-in.
Had very consistent nailing on architectural shingles and we even used it to nail valley flashings and ledger flashings.
Only one minor nail jamb in the whole roof project and that was a bad coil winding that caused it.
Case is excellent. Includes 1/4" NPT air fitting! Weight it just over 5 lbs. so its pretty light. The metal guards keep the housing from getting beat up while laying the nailer on the roof.
Compared to the Magnesium Bostitch I didn't notice much difference except you have flip two covers to load nails instead of just one. Not a big deal once you do it a few times.
Don't know how long it will last, but it works great so far.

Problems out of the box Dec 12, 2010
By rogar Brought this at a local homedepot- misfires (double shots) and nail jams galore from the outset. Could not complete a course, very disappointed.

piece of crap Sep 21, 2009
By Hannah in Seattle

the percentage of nails this gun successfully drove on its first day wouldn't even be a good baseball batting avg. it would misfire and spit out nails without driving them (often 5-6 times in a row), drive them unevenly with the heads digging into the architectural asphalt roofing material, and jam often (often more than once per coil). a major concern not only because of how this slowed down work, but because of how all the misfires and uneven driven nails would chew up the roofing material. i hope it doesn't prematurely leak! surprising because i have often thought that just about any gun made by senco is quality.
Poor start, Good finish Nov 07, 2009
By P. Trichie Purchased this gun because I have other Senco tools that have worked very well for me. It was used for small projects until recently. I needed to put up 35 squares on a rental property and started out with generic coils. Didn't have any problems bending nails but would not feed properly. Half way through the project I switched to Bostitch coils and gun worked fine with very few misfeeds. We kept the feeding spring assembly lubed which I think also helped. Had a Bostitch nailer on the job which also misfed on occasion. This may not be a professional quality nailer but for general use it's ok.

Buy a Hitachi instead Nov 22, 2006
By John
"backsight"
I bought this item at Home Depot thinking that it would work for the few roofs (1-5) that I re-shingle throughout the year. After one roof I got a refund and purchased a Hitachi instead. This nailer gave me nothing but problems from nail depth to air leakage issues. I suppose if you are doing one roof it would be ok, just don't expect for it to run flawlessly and you will probably want to return it after a roofing job. It should be also noted that this model doesn't have the conular nail driving that I have heard works well.
