Stanley staples did not fit and broke gun. Jul 25, 2010 When loading the staples and trying to close the loading bar, the Stanley staples did not move and ended up throwing a spring. This unit is now worthless! You would think a company like Stanley would have and easy loading sytem, but it is not. Also the Stanley staples should fit in the Stanley gun, but they did not. I will not purchase another Stanley tool again.

Great value Feb 26, 2010 I needed a cheap staple gun for one project - recovering some cat scratching posts. This worked great. It took some strength to squeeze the trigger, but my daddy taught me to be tough. :O)

Great stapler and brad nailer Jan 24, 2010 This is a solid entry level staple/brad nail gun. It is easy to use and great for the toolbox or around the house.
I used it to weatherproof my windows with plastic and trim board, this gun went through the trim board with brad nails with no problem in the high setting.
It was easy to handle, easy to load and easy to squeeze the handle. Overall I am pleased with this staple gun.
I would recommend this product to others.

Dont care for this Jan 23, 2010 I bought this item based on reviews from here, but unfortunately havent even used it yet. Finding the right staples is one problem right off the bat. Then being able to figure out exactly how it should work, which normally would be obvious, isnt as obvious with this thing. Part of the problem is with the poor instructions, which simply dont illuminate my question asking. Just disappointed at this time, if i had a bigger need for this item i would have already gone to a store and bought another stapler that would do the job. I cant recommend this thing to anyone, though...

You need special staples manufactured only by Stanley and they are difficult to find! Jan 08, 2010 I bought this stapler on Amazon. When it arrived, I wanted to use it right away. But I couldn't. The reason is that it needs special staples that I have been unable to buy easily and economically. It requires unique staples that are made by Stanley. They are not readily available in neighborhood retail hardware stores. This stapler can not use Swingline staples. It needs staples approximately 1/16" narrower. Apparently, Lowes and Sears sells these staples but if you are not near one of these stores you are out of luck. The only alternative is to buy them on line and pay an astronomical amount for shipping for a small item. The price of shiping can be more than the price of the item. To say nothing of the wait for the item to arrive before you can start your project and use the stapler! Imagine being in the middle of a project or wanting to start a project immediately and finish quickly but you discover you ran out of staples. You can't go to the neighborhood hardware store. It's either traveling to a store that may be many miles away or ordering on line and waiting! Moreover, by making a stapler that can only use their own brand of unique staples they can charge more for the staples than is necessary. They have you over the barrell. It's rasom. It's like HP and their printers cartridges. No wonder why there is such a low opinion of American business practices.
I wouldn't be so upset with this situation if at least Stanley would have been up front about the problem in their advertising on Amazon. In that way, I might have paid their ransom for their staples at the time of buying the staple gun and save shipping and time and start putting up my acoustical ceiling as soon as the stapler(with staples) arrived. I'm unable to do this because I have to first find a convenient place to buy their unique staples.
So this may be a fine stapler, if you are prepared to pay ransom for the staples plus a lot of time and inconvience of finding a place to buy them. I'll probably sell this stapler on Craiglist for a loss. But I promise to be up front with prospective purchasers and tell them about the problem with the staples. I probably won't be able to sell it then!
