Can Crusher Nov 20, 2008

I am not very satisfied with this model.
Its construction is ok, but the handle does flex from left to right as you are crushing the can and it seems to hang up a bit as you return it to it's "up" position.
My biggest complaint with it is that 4 out of 5 cans that you attempt to crush pop out as you are crushing them. They begin to bend in the middle and most of them end up flying out at you. In order to try to keep this from happening (I say "try", because it doesn't always prevent it), you have to pull down the handle with one hand while some how trying to hold the can in the path of the ram without crushing, cutting or pinching your finger with either the ram, the can, or the handle as you pull it down.
There's always a few drops of liquid remaining in the bottom of the can after it has been emptied, and normally, as long as the can stays upright as it's being crushed that's not a problem. If the can ends up getting jettisoned as it is being crushed, however, then the liquid always manages to escape from the partially crushed sides. When it does, it drips on the crusher, the floor and is flung along with the can onto you and anything else within a foot or two.
I would not recommend this crusher to anyone and am currently looking for a better functioning device.
